Felicitations, web traveler. You have stumbled upon the personal site of Casper Cielo, a freelance creative operating out of the American midwest. I am a multimedia artist with a love for bold, graphical aesthetics and niche interest case studies. I have over fifteen years of experience selling my artwork and upwards of 200 publicly documented projects for independent clients.
Most of my body of work focuses on my lived experiences as an objectumsexual. While the identity is inherently seen as sensationalist, the universal nature of objects has persisted in my audience conversations: how many of us have mourned the death of the family car or seen a city skyline as a sort of neighbor? I believe strongly in art's ability to serve as the great communicator, and enjoy finding common ground between myself and others who's identities may not necessarily align with mine. Some of my favorite themes to explore therein include animism, consumerism, material attachment, and unconventional grief.
I am passionate about community outreach, public speaking, and volunteering. I take great pleasure in creating and curating spaces that I feel are lacking, both for people like me and for those who want to learn. In addition, I have a vested interest in exhibiting at and speaking within contemporary art spaces. In a world where so much of ourselves are defined by our material possessions, I think all of us could afford to consider our relationships towards them a little more critically — and genuinely believe that art is the vehicle in which to make that happen.
